We meet Marc Gascons, chef at the prestigious restaurant Els Tinars in Llagostera again. And we find him very convinced of an idea he has been upholding since his first day as head chef at this family restaurant: that restaurateurs have to spread the word about the Girona region’s food and wine industry, naming the producers involved. He makes special mention to the Costa Brava producers.
This is how he tells it in this brief interview, where he also recommends some wines from the DO Empordà.
In Girona, almost everyone knows that Els Tinars is a perfect example of traditional Catalan and seasonal cuisine. The cuisine of yesterday and today, based on local, zero km products, such as the bread they make themselves.
Today, the restaurant is run by the third generation of the family: Marc Gascons, as chef, and his sister, Elena Gascons, as front-of-house manager.
Tradition, modernity and simplicity define this locally acclaimed restaurant that has had a Michelin Star since 2008.
